CUSTOMERS ACCEPTANCE UPON ENTRUSTING THEIR DEVICE WITH MONKEY MOBILE

*THE CUSTOMER UNDERSTANDS THAT THEY ARE FULLY RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY EQUIPMENT LOANED TO THEM BY MONKEY MOBILE AND UNDERSTAND THAT ANY DAMAGES CAUSED TO MONKEY MOBILE PROPERTY WHILE IN THE CARE OF THE CUSTMER MUST BE PAID FOR.

*THE CUSTOMER UNDERSTANDS THAT ANY REPAIR NOT COLLECTED WITHIN 90 DAYS OF COMPLETION WILL BECOME THE PROPERTY OF MONKEY MOBILE AND GOODS WILL BE SOLD TO RECOVER ANY COSTS INCURRED WHILE CARRYING OUT THE REPAIRS.

*WHERE AN ESTIMATE IS GIVEN AND THEN WORK DECLINED, THE CUSTOMER UNDERSTANDS THAT A £5.00 SERVICE CHARGE WILL BE PAYABLE TO COVER THE COST OF INSPECTION & DIAGNOSIS.

*THE CUSTOMER UNDERSTANDS THAT IF ANY DEVICE NEEDS TO BE RE-FLASHED OR HAVE A MAUFACTURERS SPECIFIED SOFTWARE UPDATE, THE UNIT MAY REVERT BACK TO THE NETWORK IT WAS INITIALY LOCKED TO. THE CUSTOMER UNDERSTANDS THAT MONKEY MOBILE CANNOT BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THE UNLOCKING OF NETWORK LOCKED DEVICES.

*THE CUSTOMER UNDERSTANDS THAT DATA STORED ON ANY DEVICE MAY BE LOST IF SAID DEVICE REQUIRES A SOFTWARE UPDATE.

*THE CUSTOMER UNDERSTANDS THAT BY GIVING A DEVICE TO MONKEY MOBILE FOR REPAIR/UNLOCKING, THE CUSTOMER FULLY ACCEPTS ALL REPAIR CHARGES.

PLEASE BE AWARE THAT WHILE WE TRY TO FIX YOUR DEVICE QUICKLY, SOMETIMES THIS IS NOT POSSIBLE.

SAME DAY REPAIR IS AVAILABLE ON SOME DEVICES, BUT PLEASE ASK IN STORE FOR DETAILS.

BARRED, BLOCKED, BLACKLISTED PHONES

MONKEY MOBILE DOES NOT UNBAR OR UNBLOCK DEVICES THAT HAVE BEEN REPORTED LOST OR STOLEN. ALL UNLOCKING SERVICES AND EQUIPMENT UNLOCK THE PHONES, BUT IF THE DEVICE IS BARRED, BLOCKED OR BLACKLISTED, YOU NEED TO CONTACT YOUR OPERATOR TO FIND OUT WHY, AS THIS CAN ONLY BE RECTIFIED BY YOUR SERVICE PROVIDER.

 

QUESTION : IS CHANGING THE IMEI THE SAME AS UNLOCKING?

ANSWER: MOBILE NETWORKS OFTEN LOCK HANDSETS SO THEY ARE ONLY ABLE TO OPERATE ON A SPECIFIC NETWORK. THE UNLOCKING OF HANDSETS TO ALLOW THEM TO OPERATE ON ANY NETWORK IS NOT AGAINST THE LAW & IS NOT THE SAME AS CHANGING THE IMEI (SERIAL NUMBER)

 

QUESTION : WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN UNLOCKING AND UNBARRING A BLOCKED, BLACKLISTED PHONE?

ANSWER : UNLOCKING IS 100% LEGAL IS THE UK, BUT UNBARRING IS ILLEGAL.

 

QUESTION : WHAT IS A BARRED, BLOCKED OR BLACKLISTED PHONE?

1. LOSES THEIR MOBILE PHONE AND REPORTS THIS TO THEIR NETWORK PROVIDER.

2.HAS THEIR MOBILE PHONE STOLEN AND REPORTS THIS TO THEIR NETWORK PROVIDER OR POLICE.

THE MOBILE NETWORK THEN PUT THEIR PHONES IMEI NUMBER (THINK YOUR PHONES FINGERPRINT) ON A SHARED BLACKLIST DATABASE ACROSS ALL NETWORKS. THIS LIST STOPS ANY PHONE THAT IS ON IT FROM REGISTERING ON ANY NETWORK. THE PHONE IS NOW NO GOOD TO ANYONE; IT SHOULD NOT BE BOUGHT FOR SPARE PARTS AND IT IS A CRIMINAL OFFENCE TO HANDLE IT. IF YOU DO FIND A PHONE, IT SHOULD BE HANDED IN TO THE POLICE SO IT CAN BE RETURNED TO THE OWNER.

 

THE CUSTOMER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR CHECKING THAT THE PHONE THEY WISH UNLOCKED IS NOT BARRED/BLACKLISTED OR BLOCKED, AS IN A SITUATION WHERE THE SAID HANDSET IS BLACKLISTED/BARRED, NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN.
